As it’s getting towards Christmas and the next few weeks are going to be very busy here, I thought I’d do a quick review of my top 100 photo’s on Zooomr for 2007.

Review of 2007 on Zooomr

Above are my top 100 photo’s from November 2006 until November 2007 as defined by the algorithm on Zooomr’s Discover page. I’ve had great fun taking these shots over the last year and as you can see there is a variety of shots from simple family holiday shots right through to the more obscure one’s of Cybermen and Cactus. Just my top 10 photo’s have been viewed over 3100 times with 96 people adding them as a favourite, which is awesome!

I can’t believe it’s been a whole year on Zooomer already, but I must say I have enjoyed my time on there so far, made all the more easier by the great people and community that you find there. A few people worthy of a mention, Kris Tate who came up with the idea of Zooomr and his trusted CTO, Thomas Hawk, who have inspired, suprised and some times frustrated the growing Zooomr community.

Other people worth a mention that over the last year through their great photography have managed to either make me laugh, cry, gasp in delight but most of all inspire. Persnicketydame, Trevor Carpenter, Jeremy for all things Neon, Phill Price for managing to always come up with a different view of London and Celine C. The list is too long to mention, but those on my contact list are there for a reason, because I’ve seen some great photography and love what they do, so thanks to you all guys and keep up the great work.

One area that I feel needs a special mention is the great young talent on Zooomr. On the bigger sites such a Flickr this tends to be overlooked or lost in the millions of users that exist there, but on Zooomr it is flourishing. If you don’t believe me just go look at the pages of Matt Roe, Andrew Moore etc and the great work they are already producing. One thing I have noticed on Zooomr is that these guys ask questions, want to learn and are very well supported by the zooomr community around them, which is fantastic :)

Well that’s my review of 2007 so far and can’t wait to see what the last month of 2007 brings and looking forward to 2008 and where the ride with Zooomr will take me! Also, if I get chance I’ll try and publish my top 10 favourite photo’s of the year that I’ve taken and why.

Really like this shot as it captures the real feel of Banbury Fair on a busy October night. Also better viewed on a Black Background

Amazing how a cheap flashing musical toy can keep a young boy and a not so young kid amused!
